On the louder side of rock, these guys have been my favorite newly discovered band in recent times.
I meant new as in new to me not as in recent. There is a ton of stuff out there over the years that I’ve probably missed. I tend to like older music anyway
We’ve also played this a few times…the timing on some of the parts is a bit tricky to nail

That's funny, I've been listening to alot of Fishbone this week.Following thread for inspirations myself
An old band I've missed before, which I discovered and listened in the last couple of weeks, is Fishbone. I'd say it is a mix of all the genres minus jazz and plus reggae. Some songs are plain ska/reggae while others are surprisingly heavy. But the bass is very often good!
PS they're from LA and some songs have RHCP as guests.
