New Mutron3

I bought a “new” Mutron III and find that it makes a loud click when you engage the effect unlike the”HAZ” model I own. Anyone have a thought about this?

Hello. My thought is that the pedal is defective, and so you should return it to the seller for an exchange for a new one.

The comparison to a former Mutron III clone is not interesting in this case. Instead, what's interesting is a comparison of this very pedal's incorrect behavior to any other pedal that correctly does not make a loud click when engaged.

Hi, I assume you mean the Mu-Tron Micro-Tron III here? Mine doesnt have this issue, although there was a thread on the Gear Page some time ago about some early models having a click/pop when engaged and Mu-Tron suggested at the time trying plugging in the Micro-Tron on its own straight into your amp (not in a chain) to see if it was the power supply or something else in the chain causing the pop. If that doesn't work then I'd definitely get in touch with Mu-Tron directly.
