New Old (or is it Old New?) Bassist Here

Hey all,
Just got a new bass yesterday. The last time I had a bass was in 198X where some guys and I had a rather run-of-the-mill garage band.

Life, work, family, other hobbies took over and now, nearly 30 years later, life has finally settled down and income risen to the point I can justify reindulging my former hobby.

Just a hacker so far, but looking to improve rapidly and looking forward to learning from more accomplished musicians. Hopefully lurking around here on TalkBass will help!

Welcome! My gap was 40 years and I am also just getting back into it. I play an acoustic and a Squier strat, but I recently received a Mustang bass and have found a lot of good info on this forum to help me along. It's really good at helping to fill in many things you already knew, but forgotten during the work/family/hobbies interlude. You'll like it here.
