new player with a question

For round wound strings I would start with a set of D'Addario XL 165's. They're what I would call the middle of the road type of string. Not too bright and not muddy. Their not expensive and easy to find at most guitar stores.

The Meat & Potatoes of all Roundwounds!
Usually most players { guitar & Bass}, if they can't find their
usual brand, they will pickup a set of D'Addario's.
