new player with a question

i have been playing for two years now, i would like to buy some new strings for my warwick rock bass. not sure what to buy and i really dont understand all the lingo that goes with it. could someone tell me a good string to buy and what kind(round wound..etc.) thanks, jim

playing style, personal preferences, and tonal quality that you want all go into what strings you should get.

Right now, it's like your walking onto a car lot and asking a salesman which car to buy.

round wound will give u a brighter tone whereas flat wounds are generally smooth and buttery IMO.
i play both rock and jazz and find round wound nickels to be the best for all purpose.

For round wound strings I would start with a set of D'Addario XL 165's. They're what I would call the middle of the road type of string. Not too bright and not muddy. Their not expensive and easy to find at most guitar stores.
