new preamp

Gday. my CORT GB35A is having trouble with its preamp so much that i wanna throw it out the window cause its so annoying. Preety sure its a mighty-mite 2 band active with vol-bal-treb/bass. Im tight on money, really bad but wanna get back into playing. i found a preamp on ebay for around my price range but dont know if it would be any good, if it would fit my cavity and if i would be able to convert it to stacked pots to fit the 3 holes in my guitar. i would be fine drilling the current holes bigger but not new ones. any ideas?

It is very easy if you aren't afraid of a soldering iron.
Google "Bass guitar wiring" and you'll find more help than you might even want.

As far as that device is concerned, I would be gunshy about it. The ad doesn't provide the manufacturer or any technical details. There are budget active controls that provide all the information you need to make an informed decision.

Jazz bass wiring is kind of an universal thing for two pickups basses. You can wire your bass as it's a jazz.

vol/vol/tone:

You're gonna need additional pots depending on what you already have on your bass. And of course a capacitor for the tone pot.
