Hay ladies and gentleman, my bass just took a poop on me but its OK because I was planning on replacing the electronics and this gives me an excuse to drop a bunch of poorly earned money into it lol.

I'm pretty fixated on a musicman styled humbucker in the bridge position but lately I've been digging single coil pups and would like to drop one in the way too big hole in the neck. I need some low end frequency and I need it soon lol.

I strictly play fingers and slap and pluck and I need some well appreciated advice from all u wonderful TBers out there because I have no knowledge of wiring or whatnot and will be takeing her in once I figure out what I need to buy.

My stock tone pump is ok at best so I might get a new one "money is no objective" but all the single coil pups I've used are passive and the music man humbuckers are active. Does this matter? Who makes the humbuckers in MM basses? And what is a good funky single coil to drop in? Does it matter if the hole in the neck is emg Hz sized? All questions I need much help with.

I'd ask someone at GC or my local music store but everyone's a guitarist and this is the only place I can find experienced bassist's to ask stupid questions lol. I'm as dumb as fry on futurama so please excuse my spelling errors and stupidity and HELP ME!! lol

But too one of my questions can passive and active work together? Are the pups u speak of active or passive because I really like the active tone of music man humbuckers and need something in a single coil to accommodate the mm pup for my neck position?

I realize that music man has single coils but I can't find mm styled pups in single coils. I aways loved seymore dunken pups in my short lived guitar carear so I was thinkin of getting a seymore mm humbucker but I need an active single coil to mate it with? Thanks for your response!
