The FC is very sensitive to small turns, but should not be sensitive if you do exact full turns (on both adjusters). If one full turn is too much, an exact half turn or quarter/three-quarter turn might work similarly well. There are four piezo crystals in the corners of a square inside the adjuster disk, that's the reason for the variation inside a quarter turn.

Yeah. It sounds so easy and yet I was never able to get it to work quite right for me. Great sounding p-up, though. Nothing bad to say about its tone.

Oh I know that. I think you underestimate what -20 does to instruments. Also, the different position gives a different tone. I was only satisfied with one particular spot and a particular string height. Inconsistency throws me off. Tone is money.

There are four "dot" piezos inside the Full Circle adjuster wheel. Looking down on them, they're in a "cross" pattern. Turn the wheel 1/8 of a turn (a 1/4 turn just duplicates the same alignment), and now they're in an "X" pattern (see attached photo). How they sense and amplify the vibration changes due to this alignment, sometimes quite dramatically.

Also, I suggest making a small "dot" marking on the adjuster with a Sharpie, so you can keep track of what works (and doesn't.)

By way of an update, Jason sent me his latest model of the pick up. He switched out the spacers, which were metal, to some form of acrylic. Slightly lighter weight, and a warmer tone all around with some improved articulation in the higher end. Two thumbs up!

In order to use the Kirvo pickup... it looks like my Evah Pirazzi's would not work well... that being said - what steel core strings are you using on your bass when you made this demo video?

I have been struggling so much with live sound and getting clarity, it sounds like this is a great solution. On an average gig do you blend with realist or go just krivo?

I’m not entirely sure Adam will respond to this particular thread. He’s using Remic microphones nowdays. His reviews are in the Remic thread on TB or Youtube.

I’ve just fitted a Krivo to my DB. Fitting was OK, I shaped a piece of wood that double locked into the frog, or underside, of the fingerboard. That gave the pickup a good face to attach itself to. Initially in my room I thought, ‘this is good’ just like my bass and no Fender P sound. But when I took it to a loud-ish gig and turned the vol up the sound was thin, lacking attack or body compared to my Lifeline.

Won’t be keeping.

Hey Bob! Yeah, I went Remic and never looked back. I have never been one to say “this is what is best for all.” I tend towards “this is what works for me, and here is how and why.” Ultimately, I can still recommend the Krivo as a piece of gear on the basis that it is solid and does what is advertised. It might be the sound you want, or it might not be. I never blended it with a realist. Haven’t used one of those in years because my main jazz bass hates them. Ironically, I have a fishman full circle for those “stupid loud gigs” or just in case.
