New Rondo - Medium Scale Semi-hollow

Not a huge deal, but medium scales are relatively rare to begin with. Now, to find a hollow body double cut with medium scale is pretty close to unheard of.

It's not the first time they've released this model, but I can't say I recall it being a medium scale the last time they released it. Less than $300 - if it's suitable quality, it could be a decent acquisition.

Some different color options would have been nice. A fiver would have been even better!

These basses are frustrating - it's the same problem as the old Ibanez Artcores - wrong pickup in the wrong place for that style of bass.

Don't know about yours but I've had mine for a few years now, plays/sounds great.

Got my Douglas SPB Semi-hollow bass on Friday and used it on a job Saturday night.
I even played it with the original stings.
Beautiful guitar, no problems there. Some slop in the bridge assembly allows it to tilt forward a little. I will figure out a fix just cause it bugs me, it played just fine, used it for 2 sets.
The bass has a LOT of output! Someone said the pickup in in the "wrong" position... it works for me in the P-bass slot.
Sustain... oh yeah.
The back of the neck has a flat profile and is wider than I expected, but not outragous.
To be honest I was going to buy an Eastwood Classic 4, but this bass was a heck of lot cheaper and I have a Bartolini Music Man pickup up I will drop in at some point. I may even experiment and see what kind of tone gain I get by leaving the stock pickup and swapping in CTS potentiometers. On the student Yamaha basses I have found that you get a huge improvement by getting rid of the micro pots that come stock.
