Double Bass New Rosin Suggestions Please!!

Any Jade users here? Jade works alright for me. Hard as heck initially, but once you get it going with a little friction under the bow it works "like a charm."

I still like the Pops but am down to the last bits of an old container of that, with no wax paper, so it's a bit messy.

Admittedly on one occasion I did attempt to perform the sacred alchemical process of melting down the old to create the new, but in the end I found it a PITA trying to avoid avoid either: a.) burning myself with molten rosin; or b.) destroying perfectly good kitchen items.

No offense intended to any resident master sorcerers.

I started using the Rosin Saver with a fresh cake of Nyman around March of this year. I had to cut down the Nyman container and put in some foam spacers to make it stay in the RS container. The rosin is like new.

Hello fellow bassists, my name is Justin and I am new to this forum. I was wondering if you all could give me some suggestions on what new rosin I should buy, please include the experience you have had with the rosin you suggest.

I usually use Pops, and it is really good when you first open it, but I find that after a few weeks it turns into essentially cocaine for my bow. I have to lather quite a bit of it on only for a significantly lesser quality sound. Also it then gets my strings all white and powdery. Any suggestions for longer lasting rosin that persistently gives you a good sound?

I've recently fallen in love with Kolstein soft for multiple reasons. First, the silicone container is wonderful, it doesn't seem to glob up on the strings like Pop's does, and there's no powder left on the strings. It also doesn't melt as easily as Pop's (important for me because I live in Florida). Can't recommend it highly enough.
