New Sadowsky MV4 for me!!

I normally post in the amps forum but since this will be my first Sadowsky just sharing my excitement. I just ordered a Bergantino NV115 cab from Bass Gear Direct in Sydney and (un?)fortunately while on their site a new in stock Dark Cherry Metallic Metro MV4 just kept leaping out at me. I resisted the temptation for a few days, did some research then pulled the trigger. I have never before bought a bass on looks but I have got to say that the combination of maple fretboard with a cherry ash body is just stunning. I did listen to some sound clips since I am in New Zealand and the seven day return option cannot apply, and was impressed by the sound. I was a bit unsure when reading some of the preferences stated on this forum for rosewood/alder but I have a '68 Jazz that will give me a darker growl when I need it and a custom shop 59 precision. I am thinking that the Sadowsky will fit in nicely between those two and may become my number one gigging bass - weight is under 8.5 lbs which is a nice plus. I was reassured when I looked at various dealers and sales seemed to be pretty evenly divided between rosewood/alder and maple/ash. Similarly on the Sadowsky site. Also when I looked at pictures on the forum this also seemed to be the case, so maybe the maple fretboard guys are just quieter in their praise or too busy playing :).
Anyway, certainly something to look forward to while the drummer recovers from his motorbike accident :D

It turned up today, along with a Bergantino NV115 cab. Looks simply stunning, arrived perfectly set up and in tune. In a direct comparison with my 68 rosewood Jazz I could pretty well nail the tone of the Jazz instantly - at least to the point that no-one in the audience would notice any difference. I did notice that the neck felt slightly different, I measured it and it was just over 1 mm wider than the 68 Jazz at the fifth fret (plus of course the radius is different). No biggie, I will adjust quickly. The punch from the Sadowsky active system is natural and amazing. I was a little worried that the ash/maple combination might be too bright or harsh for me but this is certainly not the case - such a versatile beast :D.
