New Search: Thoughts, Reactions, Suggestions?

I like it! But I wish it would default to date, rather than relevance.

That's a tough call... one could argue giving users (especially unregistered guests) more relevant results would be of greater value. But will consider this suggestion! At least the option to change result sorting is right there at the top of the results for you :)

When I did a typical search of my recent threads I got unrelated threads on the first two attempts. On the second two attempts I got this:

Confirmed bug. For a temporary fix, delete that comma after your name. And, be sure that "search this forum only" is UNCHECKED if you want to find all your posts (not just those in the suggestion box etc).

I will say, the new search is MUCH better than the old one, which did a weird combo of relevance/recent threads. I found myself reading the same threads over.

Thanks for all the feedback. We're back to the default search now at least until a few Link Removed get worked out, and features added with the Threadloom search, then I may give it another try.

Remember, with the default search engine in place now, you can always set your own sort order preference in your prefs:

@Chris Fitzgerald it's all about the algorithms. Lol. Lets say someone searches for "carrots organic pest control" and there are two posts:

Post A posted yesterday has search term "organic" and nothing else
Post B posted 6 months ago has all four search terms appearing multiple times

Sorting by "relevance" would put thread B first. Sorting by date would of course put thread A first.
