Double Bass New Setup on my Kay

I purchased a '39 Kay back in Feb/March and while I loved playing it, it didn't have the "punch" or "large sound" I've read that others get with their Kay. I was finally able to get a REALLY GOOD setup on the old gal and OH MY!

I finally found a VERY GOOD luthier here in Boise and the combination of moving the sound bar closer to the foot of the bridge, changing the length of the strings from the bridge to the tailpiece, gluing some of the separations together, and raising the strings 1/16th...this bass just came to life and sounds AMAZING!!

If you're on the fence about paying for a good setup that matches the style of music you play...JUST DO IT! I wish I would have done it earlier!! Money well spent!
