New Speaker For This Cab (WinISD Confusion)

I’ve been soldering since I was 12-13. I’ve built many electronic devices from a record player when I was around 13, tube and SS amps to effects units. I just had a cheap Weller iron. A few years ago I purchased a Weller temperature controlled station. Now I wonder how I ever did without it!
@BassmanPaul Did you study electronics? Seems pretty complicated to build an amp even with all
the instructions that are floating around in the internet and elsewhere. Changing two blown capacitors
in my amp was kind of a big deal for me since I have no clue about this stuff but with every time I
have to replace parts in my audio gear I learn new things...and it's awesome to keep these machines alive.

That's a so called horn-reflex cab like my Cyclops, tricky to design. I use AJhorn to simulate these, in basis it's a conic bassreflex tube. You can read more about it in the Cyclops thread.

+1 jointing metals together with heat and or electricity is very manly. Good life skill to have. A variable temperature iron is handy for electronics. If you get one with a replaceable tip, before use, you need to treat the threads with some high temperature heat conductive anti-seize paste, or the iron will break in half when you try to get the tip unscrewed. This: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] No acid flux allowed near any electrical/electronic stuff!
Ive received so many solid answers here that Im happy to help. Amazing people here... Acid flux is usually found in plumming. I think its only use is for copper pipe. Im sure its been used by accident on electric though.
The good thing about bass is, if you just can't get it, just can't play any song, you can always take a step backwards, sell you bass stuff, and get an electric guitar

Yes I studied Electrical Engineering. At the time I did there was no internet.
Sir Paul, not joking, did you use a slide rule in school? My father was a math prof and had a fully functional tie clasp slide rule. It broke at some point, but I have it now. Also slide rule cuff-links, but those were never functional. I also have his old abacus he picked up in China during WW2. He ran an analog IBM punch card computer at the small college where he was a professor of Mathematics. He left us late 2004, to the big math problem in the sky. RIP dad, we miss you.

@Et. Day, Thank you friend. He's been gone long enough that although we all miss him, we have all good memories now. I can see him alive in other people. Sir Paul has a lot of his qualities, very intelligent, yet very kind and helpful.

I’m immensely proud of my parents mine and my lady’s. All good honest hard working folk. I miss them all dreadfully.
One year my mum in law visited with her best girl friend Marie. Mum was introduced to the tube top which she loved. Her problem was staying in it!! I had to tell her several times to put them away. She and Marie were playing tennis in a local park and it happened again. A guy who passing by was so entranced he walked right into a lamp post.
RIP Tom, Gwen, George and Winnie.
