New Speaker?

Is there any advantage to replacing a factory stock speaker in a 30 watt combo amp with a better quality, higher-wattage speaker, or should the speakers wattage capacity be matched exactly to the amp's power output?

No and no.

You don't have to match wattage. I would say only upgrade if the replacement is louder (sensitivity/SPL) or will give you more excursion (xmax). A lot can be be gained, even with only 30 watts.
