New spector

Just thought I'd weigh in. I am a Spector endorser and love the US NS basses. I have 3 US NS-2's and a NS-2JA-R which I really like. It has a J Bass vibe but not 100%, and a NS body that I love. It's really a ReBop with EMG J's and an EMG circuit.

Haven't had a chance to check out the Coda, but I am totally intrigued. Spector has every right to explore their options, and they have over the years. The NS basses have been the most successful, but why can't Stuart try to reach a player that may not be interested in the NS.

The Forte basses are bringing a full maple body NS to people who are not able to afford the custom bass price. I really like these too. I'm sure they sound great as well.

Its all good if you don't like it, and that's what the forum is for. So to each his own.

Hi, everyone,

I am a jazzbass player. I just prefer the tone, and I am glad that an internationally respected bassmaker like Stuart Spector has decided to bring his high standards to making a (USA) jazzbass. I think Spector owners/brand loyalists should be proud that Stuart is trying new things, if even it means that he's tipping his hat to an old idea in order to do so. I expect that as time passes, the Coda will become a highly respected jazzbass, just as the other Spector basses are now in their own spaces.
