not without moving the bridge, and even then it may not work. youd be better off starting from scratch with a tele guitar body or buying a warmoth body, or something like that.

Second that. Consider the tools, personnel, knowledge, and resources available to Squier. None of us can match that; don't mod to achieve what can be acquired as stock.

Two inches isn't that big of a deal. My bet is that even if it was 34" the bass would feel so different in your hands and the way it hangs the two inches off its length will make it feel just right.

Interesting that they decided to widen the neck a smidge while shortening the scale. I imagine some folks will like that and others ... not so much.

I play an Aria DMB380(mosrite copy)that I truly love. It's got a J-style neck that's really comfy. My fingers are so short,the 1.7" nut width on this might be a deal breaker. My index fingers are 2 3/4" long & my middle fingers are 3". I want to pre-order one of these but just don't know. I haven't been playing that long so maybe better technique will help my reach? I'm in LOVE with the shape&medium scale of this bass!

I've got chubby bear paws for hands and pretty average size fingers. You'd be surprised what you find is comfortable may not necessarily be what you think is comfortable. I've got a whole collection of basses, some with narrow jazz necks, and some that feel like the business end of a Louisville Slugger. All of them are comfortable to play, but for different reasons.

The standard has a single coil, but with switching for "baritone, modern, and double bass"!
I think the baritone and double have pre-set bass and treble, The modern defaults to normal tone controls (Baritone cuts bass, Double bass cuts treble.)

I'll take a black special.

My SWAG is the standard single-coil with switching could be similar to the '50s Esquire switch circuit.

I'm leaning toward a black standard...I like simple.
