I just bought one and gave it a good workout last night when I got it home. It came with a Jatoba fret board which is very hard. The fret line spacing is dead on all the way up the neck. The action is very low without buzz. With the active controls I can get almost any sound I want. I leave the Tap switch in the middle and just mix the EQ knobs with PU balancer knob and that gives all the Jaco mid growl, bottom end or treble boost I want. Lighter than any Fender I've had and I do like thin necks to move fast with. Only had to adjust the truss rod a little, intonation was spot on, PUPS height adjusted perfectly and action lower than 1/8" at 12th fret from the factory. Everything is tight and excellent quality control. Can't say the same for all the MIM Fenders I've owned.
I really like this bass a lot. Maybe mine was just built on a good day, but it's a keeper for me and the price is unbeatable. I played with this bass at the dealer for over an hour and couldn't believe how much I liked it. I'm not usually that impressed.
