New Sterling Short Scale StingRay

I really like it. This bass is a real temptation.
The short scales are real winners. I’m so glad they roasted the neck on this new batch. Should feel closer to the EBMM offerings.
I wonder what the other finish options will be. A Sparkle would be nice!! So would a SeaFoam green. The SeaFoam sparkle they did on the GC exclusive Ray 34 would be perfect.
I have liked the short scale Stingray Sterlings since they first came out and I still like them right now.
Woah, awesome. Love mine, definitely changed my mind on maple boards. I'm jealous of the roasted upgrade, more so than the rosewood.

I guess the MM pup, just like on a 5 string is a winner

Im buying one and actually already thought about... "hmm what if it just had a regular maple neck?"
I have 3 of these SBMM short scale bass’s, one white, one of the light blue turquoise and one that I had custom painted matte black.
I couldn’t resist the new red/orange model with the roasted maple neck so I preordered it, now I’m patiently awaiting its arrival.
Don’t know the ETA yet but supposedly it won’t be a long wait.

I even waited the 24 hours to let the bass acclimate to my climate. It was worth the wait...

Can anyone comment about the differences between a plain neck, and roasted maple neck?
I'm looking to get a used SBMM bass to learn on, but not sure what's the difference.
I'm looking to get a used SBMM bass to learn on, but not sure what's the difference.
One is roasted, one is not. The color is different (asthetics). Roasted is supposedly harder and more stable since it's been roasted dry (no moisture). They might sound a little brighter but probably very minimal effect on tone.
