New Stone Temple Pilots album May 25th !

I'm a big big fan of the pilots, and Robert is one of my main influences as a rock bass player... but what's up with the new album?? I didn't hear any of the DeLeo's compositional creativity in "between the lines"... and also what is that Nirvana rip off in the bridge of the song??? I think it's "Stay Away" from Nevermind.

Did you listen to the rest of the album? "Between the Lines" isn't the best song on there.

Been listening to the album continuosly every day for 3 weeks now. It`s growing on me more and more every day. I love the fact that`s made of songs well crafted.

I must admit that is harder to listen to some bass lines since they`re not so prominent as in previous records, but they`re fantastic as usual. Robert De Leo is a monster player and composer.

I dont hear much tonal variation in Robert's bass tone, in the past he would use a bunch of different basses on their records.

I agree.
Besides I keep listening to their albums in my car stereo and in this one it`s a bit harder to identify some bass lines.

I guess it`s a matter of tonal variation and presence in the mix.
