New stuff from Ibanez - 2009 models

I tried to order a white ICB200EX but it was permanently out of stock so I got the new ICB250EX instead, hope to get it in a few weeks. Interestingly the 250 has identical specs compared to 200 except for price and color - and fretboard radius

Yep, that's right. The ICB250EX has 16" radius while the other ICB models (including the "previous" ICB200EX model) have 12" radius like most Ibanez instruments. Has anybody else noticed this? I wonder why have they done this... Well, I'm curious to try it out! And since I already have the ICB300EX I can do some comparisons between the two :)

Anybody else seen this one yet?

Scale is short and the spacing looks tight, but it could prove interesting:

WOW!

ME WANT! :bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:

I love that bass too and I think it's Indonesian or Korean =/ Im trying to get an answer if Ibanez makes their basses from Indonesia these days since the Cort factory has been shut down...

Ibanez still has factories in Korea besides cortek, as well as china, indonesia and of course japan.

Doesn't matter where it comes from, from the absolute cheapest to the most expensive, Ibanez always put out a good instrument.

spot on!!!

yeah there is quite a few cool new things happening this year with ibz. so heres what i got so far....
*SR prestige has a new build (no more neck thru) and a new EQ system designed specifically for the sr's - see earlier pics in this thread!)
*more 6 string models at low end pricepoints (sr/btb)
*The SRX line has been refined to be more "extreme" sounding bass (whatever that means...im yet to play it)
*The ATK has been modified to give a more "simple, raw end punk sound"
*SRX's are neck thru construction
*new model- ATRB designed for those wanting a more 70's "arena rock" sound - the short scale neck(30.3) is suited for smaller hands.
*new sig model for Peter Iwers - PIB1
*new sig model for Mike D'antonio - MDB2

If any of you are also interested in the new guitar/amp/accessory stuff pm me and ill let ya know!!!

or just check out ibz at namm!

seeya!:bassist:

What!?! The SR-5006E is not a neck-thru? Now I am a little skeptical. Now I will have to play one for myself before I determine whether or not I want it that badly.

Nope, look at the neck pocket. They're bolt-on. I actually like bolt-on's more, so I'm happy. Neck through has always seemed like a bit of a "look at this, expensive feature!" type fad to me. (This is coming from someone who owns a neck-through)

Both NTs and BOs have there advantages. To be honest, I have never owned a neck through. But, I have played them (most notably, an Ibanez BTB-775PB and an SR-1000), and I really liked them. But I have also had great experiences with bolt-ons.
I wonder how big a difference there is in the timbre of the mahogany body of the SR-4000 and the mahogany body with the wenge top and back of the SR-5000.

That new Prestige SR5005E has me salivating. But I gotz one question: Does the EQ Bypass switch allow the bass to go from Active to Passive mode so you can keep playing if the battery dies? If so, I may buy this suckah. If not, I'll stick with my passive basses.

Yes, the switch allows you to turn the Power Curve III EQ system off, so you only have the vol/ balancer.

Hey guys, i'm stuck between buying ibanez prestige sr4005 or sr5005. Can anybody tell me what kind of difference does wenge top and the back body give, cause i couldnt find any other differences on ibanez web-page
