New (to me) amp day!

It's an Ampeg B100R:

Made in 1998, according to serial number. Haven't put it through it's paces yet, but I have band practice in about an hour, so we'll see. My Kramer DMZ4000 can sound harsh through more "modern" circuits; I'm hoping this baby will mellow it out.

Right now I'm in loooooooove.

Awesome...a modern classic IMHO, and my vote for the best new product to come out during the SLM years, slightly edging out the 4 Pro.

Update: The amp more than holds its own against a drum kit in a church hall -- a righteous 100 watts. With "Ultra Low" engaged & the tone controls centered, and the tone knob rolled all the way down on the metal-necked Kramer, I'm getting close to what I want tonally. The amp, apart from a ratted-out handle, seems perfect. (Did I mention that I only paid $175 American for it?)

I worked for an SLM warranty-certified repair shop around the time this amp was made. We saw very few Ampegs, and I don't think I ever saw a B100R, which either means they didn't sell many or they didn't break down. I suspect the latter. Was always impressed with the quality of Crate/Ampeg gear, & this amp is no exception.
