Double Bass New (to me) upright ..... I guess ....

I've been on the electric side of TB for many years ...... now I have a reason to be on this side, I guess.

Wishbass.jpg

It's a Wishbass upright prototype. made by Steve Wishnevsky who has been around bass guitars forever.
I picked this up cheap and plan on getting it to "player" status.
I used to build and sell Cigar Box Guitars and have done a fair bit of repairs for friends and such so that's not a problem.
Plans are:
Nut, bridge and bottom string block.
-probably replace and realign all 3. you can see how crooked it is.
Set up ... you can drive a car under the strings.
Add internal bracing for the bridge .... thee is NONE!
Add a piezo .... not real loud. It's basically an acoustic with an endpin.
Speaking of endpin ..... gonna try to straighten that.
Put a control plate for the wiring and piezo over the current, poorly located sound hole and add one in a better location.
Do all this with an eye towards possible going to 4 strings.

Advice, suggestions welcomed!
