I'm trying the combo of a Pedaltrain Nano with a Cioks 4 power supply, powered by a rechargeable battery bank.
Normally with only two pedals, it might seem like a waste of effort to get a pedalboard setup, but both these pedals are a pain to power. The Zoom is a pain because it requires 500 mA, and runs through onboard batteries so quickly its not practical. Luckily the Cioks 4 outputs over 600 mA at 9 volts. The Pork Loin is a pain to power because although guitar sounds great through it at 9 volts, the low notes on bass tend to clip more than ideal. The unmodded porkloin is good running up to 16 volts, so I have that output set to 15 volts, and it sound great with my P bass. I wish the Pork Loin didn't sound so dang good, because I've found myself jumping through hoops to make it sound even better. This is after trying multiple Darkglass and Sansamp options and never finding the sound I was looking for.
The option to power the Cioks 4 with USB power is really why I bought it, and I stuck a 15 dollar 10,000 mwh batter bank under the Pedaltrain nano. I figure a full charge should last quite a while with my smaller setup. I'll probably carry a 10 foot USB charger that can be plugged in as a backup for gigs, but I love the idea of not having to worry about more cords and outlets with my pedalboard. Pretty excited to break this out at practice this weekend!
Now i just have to decide how I'm gonna fill out the rest of my pedalboard real estate.
