The new RB's have been getting rave reviews.
You should remember that these are Warwicks more affordable line.They dont pretend to be anything else.

New Warwick Rockbass basses!!!!

I played a few of the new $$ rockbass's. The necks are huge maple ones. I think the bodys are some kinda ash, but htere reallllyyy heavy.

You're the very first person I've come across that has this opinion,& I moderate the Warwick forum so I tend to hear about this sorta thing first.The very first RB's werent as good.They were built in Korea,but production soon moved to China in a Factory owned by Warwick,using mostly machines that were retired from The German factory,& quality increased alot.The main issue with the Korean RB's was the spary jobs.Their sunbursts left alot to be desired.
I understand your experience was good,but that doesnt mean ALL RB's are,"crappy".If you get the chance,try out an 09 RB.
I had a Made in China Vampyre RockBass. It Kicked @$$!!! I was watching a video of a show we did while I was playing this monster, and it Growled & Roared like the Real Deal!!
I have had 2 rockbasses 1st series and they are great I have gigged the crap out of them and they have never let me down and the tone is awesome. It may not be "Warwick" signature growl but they are super for the price.
I had (just sold it yesterday) a 2003 Rockbass fretless 5. Although it did feel like a foreign made bass, it was very good for what it was. Much better than many of the other made in whatever basses out there. Neck was very stable, was put together very well, preamp cavity was the best I've ever seen...every part had a small pocket routed for it (preamp module, battery). It sounded pretty darn good, too. Obviously not the real warwick sound, but still good nonetheless.
The new for '09's? To me, absolutely amazing. I was in GC yesterday and I picked up the same $$ I played 3 weeks ago. Still felt and sounded amazing. for a passive bass, it had massive b@ll$. If I were to get one, I'd probably put a Bart pre in it, install some coil tap switches like the real $$, and call it awesome.

Good to hear from you Greg I come by the forum and lurk from time to time. i am actually rocking the Attitude LTD II all the time.
I have now come here to spread the Rockbass love. I am still quite the advocate for the Rockbass I have sold my Warwick and kept my Rockbass because she is such a beast. I love the new ones and have been thinking of updating. I will swing by the Warwick forum and say hey to the crew!!
For the record, Grizzly, those are not the new Rockbasses. Those are the old ones the new ones have proper Warwick-style bridges.
I played the 4 string $$ and it sounded awesome!! i mean obviously not as good as their made in germany counterparts. but overall a good option for someone looking for a good sounding bass under $1000

HT, are any of the new RB line going to be 6-strings? Will there be any RBs with a 35" scale? I was actually quite impressed with the feel of the maple neck (as opposed to the 4x4 necks on every other Warwick I've picked up) and I might have to get one of these.
I stopped at the Orange, CT GC for about 15 minutes today and they had several Rockbasses. All Corvettes-2 "standard" Corvette 4 stringers and one $$ 5er. I had no chance to plug anything in and really stretch out but I found the necks on the 4 stringers to be comfortable for me. I did not get to pick up the 5er because of the way the bass area was set up. I didnt feel like climbing over anything to get to the bass. 
I'd like to get back there and plug one in for a few minutes.

Dont quote me on this bro but I've heard that there's a chance that RB's may be available in 6 string versions in the future.Alotta people have been asking this very question.This is how the soon to be released Warwick single cut bass came about.The people asked for it,& also asked for a competition to be held,asking for designs from the Warwick forum members.The winning bass,based on a Thumb NT6 will be made late 09 or early 10.There will be 3 built initially,with the 3rd bass made,going to the designer.Back on topic.I havent heard of anyone asking for 35" scale as an option,but ya never know.
You should either join our forum & ask for these things in the RB section,or email Warwick direct,& your email will more than likely be responded to by the company owner/founder or whis good wife.
Also bear in mind that all stock Warwick necks are of the slim profile,as per pre 1998 necks,with extra slim & the fat neck available as options.

Like Donut said,that's the Vampyre Dark Lord,which was discontinued from 2009,but like all discontinued models,is still available thru the custom shop in stock spec.
ive owned two corvette standard ash basses . i thought the double buck rb i played thursday was just as good . but i like maple necks . i can say thet i didnt know it was passive going through a markbass lmtube and a 210/115 set up . i really liked it . they also had the regular "j" pickup model but i didnt get to play it ... but i actually was thinking about getting the $$ ....
