New website amongst teens..Problem. Help me..

Just ignore it.

Period.

They are just looking to trigger a negative response, if you play into it it will make it worse.

Well, i already have people mad at me thinking im saying this stuff.

Sounds like someone has it in for you though. It might be worth watching your back if you ever go to a school reunion party.

You must have gone to the Shaler Area High School? A lot of their posts are on the first page with your name on them....

Yes, Shaler it is.

Threaten the website. I am sure they will claim that they have no control over content, but enough of a threat will probably cause them to pull the offending posts and user.

Threaten them with what? What laws is this breaking? Where can i read more about these?

I think you can hand them a subpoena asking them for the identity of the people who are defaming you. Same thing that ASCAP does to universities to combat illegal file sharing. I have no doubt this requires a lawyer.

I wouldn't ignore the problem; suppose the people who were defamed pressed civil charges against you for supposedly defaming them? And this is highly improbable, but suppose one of the people "you" supposedly talked trash about was crazy enough to physically come after you?

And the website would probably tell you to shove it and feed you BS that they have no control over the content unless you do it through a lawyer, then they will cough up the IP addresses double fast. Know any friends of your folks or your friends' parents who are lawyers?

Strait up computer crime people can find this guy... I'm not sure how the laws work in Pittsburgh but in Canada impersonation is a crime and so is libel. Consulting a lawyer is definitely a good idea (up here a lawyer will give you a free consultation and I imagine lawyers do similar down there). I would also consider contacting the authorities.

I messaged tommy, im sure he will at least point me in the right direction for this. Thank you.

Does anybody actually read the rubbish and take it seriously on a site like that?

It's not significant enough to involve a lawyer IMO.

You don't need to register to post so you could fill it up with spam if you wanted to....

Although I will tell you this..... Whoever is posting all the negative gossip about you will tell his friends and it will come to you through the grapevine. As soon as you know the grapevine will tell him that you know. That's all you have to do.

Then, when he knows that you know he will have to worry about what you could do knowing that it was him.

You keep the moral high ground and the "poison pen" has to deal with the karma....
