Just got a brand new Yamaha BBP34II in aged white. A very minor blemish, appears to be either a little over sanding of the neck pocket or chip. I know it is only cosmetic and the bass is perfect either way. Would this bother you. OCD kicking in. My thoughts leave it, the bass will get other wear marks. Kind of looks like it was from sanding the neck pocket, the neck is a nice snug fit, maybe a slight chip.

New Yamaha BBP34II Would this bother you?

I would feel slightly bothered, but not much. Depending on what kind of sales support the store offered, I might send a picture and kindly ask if they would be up for doing anything. Gift card, set of strings, whatever. To me, it wouldn't be worth the time and effort to pack it back up and return it.
Although, at that price, it shouldn't have been there, don't be bothered. If the bass is otherwise perfect, just play the hell out of it.
If it felt and sounded good, I wouldn't bother with a return. Especially in that spot, you won't see it when you're playing.
I'm a bit OCD myself, but that wouldn't bother me enough to return it.

Just curious, is the bass part number label on the back of the headstock BBP34 or BBP34II? Is this a second series bass? I'm not aware of any changes since they first released the latest BB series (besides colors).
The second series has new colours—including the aged white—as well as plain chrome rather than brushed tuners. Not sure, but I think the knobs have changed as well. To my knowledge, that's it.
As you said, the bass will get wear, tear, scratched, and dinged over time. This is just "pre-dinged". Kind of like a new car in that you worry about it getting scratched and dinged, until it gets scratched and dinged and then you stop worrying.
That said, as it is new, I would go back to the seller with this and see if they offer a discount for it being "B-stock", essentially.
FWIW, I play my BBP (original release series) the most of all my instruments lately. It's a terrific bass all around, and I hope yours is too.

I would see if could get a few quid knocked off the price and spend the money on beer!

Keep in mind, there's no guarantee that you'd like the replacement better if you decided to return & exchange this bass.
