But seriously, play it and enjoy it. Yamaha BBs are the best PJs you can get. Mine is scoffed and scarred but still beautifull and I love it.

It would bother me forever.
If I did it that's one thing, if it shipped like that it's a blemish. Should be discounted.

In the world of mass produced instruments, this is not B-stock.

It's your bass and your money, so your opinion is the only one that counts.
And you seem to really like the bass - minus that small blemish.

Keep in mind, there's no guarantee that you'd like the replacement better if you decided to return & exchange this bass.
Even though Yamaha basses tend to be VERY consistent, you'd still be rolling the dice.

If the bass plays and sounds great, a minor blem like that would be meaningless to me. If you choose an exchange, you might get an inferior instrument, cosmetics aside.

OCD and I've seen worse on more expensive instruments. Bob sprays the bodies which go in a big bin...Joe pulls the body and a neck from another bin....skirts by QC as passable. If the playability, fretwork, etc. is spot-on, let it go and count your blessings.
