New York Retailers stocking Leftys?

Hi all, a friend of mine is hopping across the pond from London to New York and is hoping to do a bit of bass shopping whilst there. Only trouble is he's a lefty so is wondering where has the biggest selection in stock?

All suggestions gratefully recieved

48th street between 8th and 9th ave's. Rudy's, Manny's, Sam Ash. Some lefty choices between the three...I'd say 10-12 between the three...although Sam Ash has recently, and unfortunately, locked ALL of their basses so you need to ask a rep to use each one (and they are sometimes less than thrilled to comply).

True. Manny's has been owned by Sam Ash since they defaulted on a loan some years back, so it hasn't really been Manny's in a while. One of the Goldrich's, Judd (a great guy, btw), joined GC a few years ago.

48th St isn't the music destination it used to be, especially since other outposts have shown up around the city. You can do a little tour of Sam Ash and Rudy's on 48th St., Rogue and 30th St Guitars on 30th, and GC on 14th St, all on the west side.

I don't know if Bass Boutique on 9th Ave and 51st street is still open...I do know that the Alleva-Coppolo guys used to be there, and my uncle bought a bass from them at some point in '96 or '97.

Thank you for the referal but I closed N.Y. Guitar & Bass Boutique, Inc. on 9th ave @ 50th last summer (June 30th) and opened up J.A.C. Musical Instruments, Inc. (the Alleva-Coppolo factory) in Upland California 4 days after my move. Sorry I no longer have a showroom there BUT if you are looking for another place in NYC please vist my friend Matt DeSilva who owns Guitar Man located on 147 Orchid St. Not sure if has any lefty basses in stock but the shop is really cool and definately worth a visit. If any of you stop by there please be sure to tell Matt I say Hello. Best of luck with your search.
