New Zoom B1X Four $99

For those of you with the X version, how do you like the action of the expression pedal, and what are your settings for the volume pedal function? I see there are two different volume pedal effects, one of which has two different curves.

I'm very happy with my B1 Four. I primarily use it for HPF and parametric EQ with acoustic double bass. I've been considering adding a volume pedal lately, so upgrading to the expression pedal equiped B1X Four is appealing. However, I haven't liked using volume pedals before, especially with upright bass. It's a bit akward to play/balance an upright while standing on one foot and fine tuning a volume pedal, and the Morley I used to own could be quite touchy. So, I've always opted for belt clip style preamps that can be attached to the tail piece.

I have the pervious version, the B1xon with the volume-expression pedal, that I use with upright. It works for me but I sit on a stool though

I was looking at the LoopRoll effect in the B1 Four as a potential alternative to the EHX Freeze. Basically, I would like to sample and hold one note while I play others over top of it (with only the first note held). Has anyone tried this with the B1 Four and does it work well? (or am I misinterpreting what this effect does?) The unit is not carried locally and my search found no mention of the effect on the forum or elsewhere. Thank you.

I'm late to the party but I just got the B1 Four. I'm confused about this LoopRoll effect. I wonder if you or anyone has figured out why they made this an effect that you can put in a effects chain while there is also a button to engage the looper mode. I can't find any documentation on this or how it would be applied. Your comment is the only thing I could find that even mentions it.
