I started out fingers, then went to a pick for a few years , then fingers and back to a pick.


So do you have a bass? cord? or amp? those 3 things are pretty much the bare essentials you need, you dont need a case or strap first or any of the crap. Just a bass, cord and amp and you should be good for a bit. Then get a strap and learn how to play standing up, once you have all the songs down sitting there and playing.


You will want to buy used as much as possible to save cash, but research what you buy never let anyone rip you off.

If you need a bass i see one in the classifieds i will post that i think would be a great first bass.


And if you dont have anything what price budget do you have? for 300$ used you can get a decent first set up

a tad more info would help.....musical background,goals,etc.....your wording could suggest a passing fancy rather than a desire to master the instrument......the guys here are really helpful,but need more to go on
