newb question

I have a SansAmp XDI that I want to use for recording to my pc. I know I need an xlr to 1/8" conversion cable to hook into the line in on my sound card. My question is, should the 1/8" mini jack be mono or stereo?

Well I think I may have answered my own question.

Please let me know if this will work.

I am assuming line inputs on most sound cards are stereo. So, do I need a cable that applies a mono signal to both contacts of a stereo 1/8" jack? Kind of like this Invalid Link Removed
