I'm considering a warmoth or partscaster build for a 3pickup j/p/? bass. Jazz in the bridge, p in the middle and a possibly a cleaner cunife or alnico split coil in neck position?
Why? Who cares. I think it'd be cool.
Ideally, I think it'd be cool to make it five string but it's my understanding that some extra consideration is needed for 5 string precision basses to avoid a flubby B. If this is the case, the B on any neck up pickup would likely sound awful.
Any suggestions for a neck pickup for a 5 string that would sound the least awful?
