I felt like I needed some music in my life, and given the small size of my condo, I needed something that wouldn't take up too much room.

I played piano for around 9 years, then quit once I went to university as I just didn't have time or the opportunity to keep it up consistently.

Learning to play the bass has been a humbling experience for me - coordination is something I'm working on right now :)

I'm excited to be a part of this community.
I hope with loads of practice and perseverance I'll be able to jam with folks one day!
My other aim is to get to know more people and I figure getting involved with musicians is a great social opportunity too!

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Welcome to TB. Hey, we all need music in our lives and bass is a great instrument. I picked one up 45 years ago and never put it down.

Hang in there and you'll be just fine, I know it's hard at the start but after 9 years of piano you know music so you're already way ahead in that respect.

Good luck with it all and enjoy the journey.

Welcome! I am a returning member. I am trying to get back into playing the bass more frequently. It was really my one main hobbies. Just curious, in moving from piano, what made you choose the bass over let's say the guitar? Please don't get me wrong that is great that you chose the bass! We are the backbones of the band!
