Newbie part two: Practice amp: Ampeg, Rumble or Hartke? (Under $150)

(Sorry if this is already asked. I am new here and would like to hear some fresh ideas Following up the post I posted before, now I am looking for a practice amp. I am looking at Fender rumble 15, 25, and 40 (found a used Rumble 100 for $90) Are any of these good for practice? 15 would be great since I could store it in my locker, but the sound isn't as full as the bigger ones. How are these comparing to Ampeg (like BA-108) or a Hartke HD15? Thanks!!

Well, for 90 bucks I’d be all over that Rumble. I assume it’s the older version, looks like this:

the 100w will be enough to jam with friends, so that should be enough for a while.

unless, you specifically want compact for home. Nothing wrong with having a little guy just for home, get a bigger “jam” amp later. Again, I’d skip over the Rumble 15

I had a BA108 and loved it. Great sound, played it with cajon, banjos, guitars... just underpowered with a drum set. I find Ampeg BA and Rumbles to be similar in tone. No experience with Hartke....

Thx man I totally agree. I love the more "punchy" sound of Ampeg but I also love the thicc sound of the rumbles. I will go try out the Rumble 100

The BA108v2 is a sweet sounding amp, and has a "kickback" too. Mine sees far more use than one might imagine given what else I have to practice. You'll find lots of infos at The Combo Club

If that Rumble 100 is in good condition I'd grab it for that price!
