No, it's not bad to play at all, and they are still very popular and loved by many. But I don't do a lot of music that requires more than 4 strings, and I grew up on a 4 and played a 4 for 20 years before I ever owned a 5. But you can bet that if I played a lot of music that required a 5, I'd use my 5!Do you mind me asking why?!? You find it that bad to play?!?
So they're not that popular then?!?
Such a heavy string is a pain to get it going But I'm still glad I heard about #5 string option Be4 I got myself a newbie bass....
Its supposed to be good for playing metal music so ive heard online)
Yep, and it's not just theater and stuff like that requiring a 5. Plenty of bassists in all genres use 5's.Well I heard that there was an eXtra deep/low string so I was like Yay!! But I found out later many who play them play music for theatre and professional stuff like that.....Not eXactly me that But hey.....think some guitar vids said you can just ignore the eXtra string if your used to a #4 string bass....?!?!
