Newbie Recording Question

So, I dusted off my Tascam DP-02 Hard Disk Porta Studio. I was pleased to find some recordings of an original jazz band I was part of a while ago.

The problem is that the recording is only coming through the right side of my headphones.

I don't see any way of fixing it on the Porta Studio, as I think I inadvertently recorded it that way.

Do you think I could export the song as a final, mixed wave file, and then use digital audio workstation software to put it on both sides of the speakers/headphones?

Yep. Seems easy enough. I would export/mix down the recording as a mixed wave file. import it back into your DAW as a mono input then use reverb/delay to "stereo it up a bit" and export it as a stereo file.

So... you recorded mono signals into stereo tracks and panned them all hard right? Are you sure your headphones just aren't broken? Because that seems like a difficult thing to do by accident... but if this is really the case, you can export each track as wav file, import into a daw, and remix properly.

I got new headphones meant for the studio, and they are brand new. I just tested them on my computer and only the one side comes through. So it must be the headphones. Drat. At least I don't have a convoluted export to other software and then tweaking. Songs sounded fine as they are on the hard disk recorder.
