Newbie switching gear..

Hi there,

Just joined after finding this site and realizing what a font of info and great community I've been missing. Am UK based bassist in rock covers band been playing guitar for over 30 years and bass the last 3.

Now realize bass as my natural calling and getting more serious:D .

Just taken delivery of a new Ampeg B-100R to replace my second-hand Peavey TNT 150. Love at first sight/sound. Peavey was loud and reliable through a lot of nights but too difficult to transport in terms of size and weight. Also found the sound at times a little too raw and difficult to shape. The Ampeg is still fairly robust but that "controlled" power in the sound and the overall tone/depth of the lows....Perfect for me.

Have been playing an OLP Stingray copy since I started out on bass and have Jazz Bass on order from Fender Custom Shop. I can't wait. Another other J Bass Custom classic users out here?
