Hi...

I'm pretty new to playing bass, and still totally clueless about the best way to learn to play well so I'm hoping to find some good advice here!

I learned by playing along with cassettes of my favorite songs, uh oh I'm showing my age. Just make sure your bass is in tune, and plan on spending a lot of time rewinding. There are some cool bass trainer machines on the market to help in this regard but, you don't need to spend the extra cash, just put on the Ipod, turn down the volume so you can hear your bass too, and get to work.
