I don't think he pass on $7.2 mil. I'm hoping he'll sign the tender and be training camp. The guy is a player, although somewhat of a fool for his choice of agent.

It's too bad it's too late to sign him to a long-term deal for this season. They say he's a system player, but you still need someone with certain attributes to fit. Briggs has great range, and is a sure tackler - a necessity for the WILL in the Cover-2.

I think this will be the last year for Briggs as a Bear. They'll need the cap space next season to resign Tommie Harris, and possibly Berrian and Grossman.

Don't worry. The Seahawks went through this every year for years with Walter Jones. He'd hold out and talk about leaving, then sign for the tender right about two weeks before the season started. The Hawks finally inked him to a big deal last year.

Briggs is playing the game like a lot of those guys do when they are that good. He'll sign a big deal, it just may be a couple more years of what is going on right now.

The sad part is they multiply when the weather is right.

I'm bummed about Tarik retiring, that is truly the only big loss they've suffered this off-season. Charlie Johnson was promising last year in the Super Bowl but that was at RT filling in for Ryan Diem. I'd like the front of Peyton's jersey to stay clean all year. Hopefully, Ugoh is as good as Polian thinks he is.

Nobody here really knows the extent of the injury right now. I'm hoping he just tweaked it, but this might be one of those nagging injuries that can haunt a player for a while. On the bright side, people around here are pretty impressed with Woodley, so maybe he'll get some early playing time if Timmons is still hurting.

Eh, just been really busy lately. I haven't been reading The Star lately or the Colts forum. I guess I tried to forget about football until training camp since there wasn't anything really going on. Guess I was wrong!

So, what do you think about Corey Simon supposedly going to showing up at camp? I would love for him to show up and really play if he is in shape. Booger and Corey together would really be great against the run and it would help Freeney and Mathis along with the secondary. I doubt it will really happen but I can hope for something positive out of it, right? :help:

From what I understand, his appearance at camp is an empty gesture to help with his greivance. I'd love for the defense to revert to it's output of 2005 over that of 2006 six.

Another rumor I've heard on that board was that Warren Sapp might be waived by the Raiders. I think Freeney, Mathis, Booger, and Sapp would be a great experienced line. But'll probably never happen.

Bears have landed Darwin Walker for conditional draft pick. It's a fifth rounder or less, depending on performance.

A solid move, and a steal of a deal. We now have an upgrade over Tank and have added a component that could give us one of the best defensive lines in terms of starters and depth.

I snicker to myself about all those horrible years Chad Scott played on the Steelers. Then I think to myself...I wonder what Chad Scott is up to. I click the link......it is THE Chad Scott that couldn't cover a blanket in Pittsburgh. :eek:

How in the world is he still playing....for the Patriots nonetheless?
