NFL Preseason 2016

Put a little too much air in the footballs? That's a four game suspension even though we can't prove you did it Tom.
Beat up and assault your wife multiple times over the years and police evidence documenting the calls? You're going to sit out one game Josh.

Well, the Browns looked pretty much like what I was expecting this year. I'm picking 4-12, with hopes of a lucky win or two. Now, here's my totally hallucinogenic vision: The line tightens up and gives decent pass protections, Gordon, Pryor, and Coleman are all on the field together, and RGIII goes all Baylor with the ball. This could also be abetted by duke Johnson coming out of the backfield a la Edgerrin James.

Oddly enough, the offense bothers me less than the horrible, horrible defense. I hope they come together soon.

Admittedly, I haven't been watching the preseason games very closely, so maybe someone can tell me where Joe Hayden is. Has he been playing, cuz if he has been, I haven't seen him.

He's still recovering from the ankle surgery, I believe.

Henry looks to be an NFL ready back as a rookie. 7.1 ypc through 2 games. I'll take that. More to the point the loss against the Panthers was encouraging actually.

The Run "D" is better than I had hoped but still, tackling (or lack there-of ) is making me nuts. I HATE seeing lack-luster arm tackle attempts.

Tajae Sharpe is the real deal. He reminds me a bit of Mason and his report with MacNair. It's not a division winning team yet but it is a team others will have to take seriously now. I'm pleased, even if it works out to a 4 and 12 season.

And meanwhile in Denver Coloradio, Trevor Semian is starting game #3. Much analysis points to the assumption that it's his job to lose, and da rookie Paxton Lynch may be #2. Sanchez has lost the handle on the ball too many times, and there is speculation he may get cut if Lynch looks like a viable backup.

Lotsa QB drama here. I feel for Sanchez, as he has worked really hard to fit into Denver, but he does seem to manage to lose the ball too often. The Broncos are going to be built around defense, and the QB has to mostly protect the ball and avoid mistakes.

Talk of the Browns trading Gordon rears its somewhat homely head again. He's due for a 4 game vacation to start the season, but teams still are interested despite his history. I hope they don't trade him but if they do, I hope it's a good one. Maybe they can throw Gibson into the mix. He's turned into another Browns first round bust.
