It's official.....Cowher is gone. THANK YOU Bill for everything. He was a very good coach for a long time in Steeler land. Yep, I am sad. I'll probably shed a tear or two during the news conference Friday. :bawl:

I wonder who will pick him for the $8 million a year he will want in 2008? Dallas?

As far as a replacement for us, I'm not sure. Hiring a head coach is not something I am used to as a Steeler fan.

at least cowher built a diverse staff of very good assistants with strong personalities to surround him and help the team... i think that may have been his strongest ability as a leader: to get brilliant minds together and not dominate them too much... bringing in lebeau after his stretch as teh head coach at the bengals was genius. anyway, i think you've a good crop of candidates in your system so you guys should be fine.

I would LOVE to see Cowher on the Dallas sidelines. A stern disciplinarian who loves his players and has playoff experience, rebuilding experience, and Super Bowl experience? Love it. Him or Jeff Fisher.

Wayne Huizenga (sp?) will most likely be willing to throw the requisite fundage at Cowher to convince him not to sit in comfort in his Raleigh, NC home before anyone else. He looks like a good move for the Dolphins in every way, mainly his experience WINNING, and the fact that he won't bolt less than halfway through his contract, based on his history.

Even with the offense semi-struggling, they moved the ball fairly efficiently. The defense was jacked up tonight; if they play half that good the rest of the way Peyton won't have to strive to be perfect to win games.

Dallas Clark and Joe Addai were great tonight. I think Addai will take Rhodes' starting position if he keeps this pace up. Definitely in the top 3 RBs in his draft class at this point in their careers.

Hopefully Peyton was just nervous about the postseason. In his defense, two of his picks were bad routes/timing issues on Marvin Harrison's part. Nothing came of it, so I don't think it will matter. They'll work out their mistakes and be better next week.

Baltimore will be tough, but they are definitely defeatable. The Colts defeated that defense in Baltimore last year, but they didn't face this year's decent offense. Should be a good game.
