NFL Week 5

Congrats to the Bears & their fans, 5-0 and seemingly "for real".

:)

...and, while not a "pretty" win, the Saints none the less are one game back at 4-1 and now TRULY in 1st place in the NFC South, in any way you look at it.

:hyper:

Reggie Bush looked pretty good on that punt return, hm?

:D
Reggie Bush is a stud! Houston will rue the day that they passed on him. Could be like the time 3 teams passed on Jordan and the rest is history.

Yeah, how the HECK do you pass on a guy like that??? I bet the front office in Houston is looking for a new job next year after that flub!!!

:rollno:

I mean, c'mon, NO has Duce McAllister, and he's a stud in his own right (posted some serious yardage against a fair Bucs D Sunday), and they STILL took Bush! You just DO NOT pass up that kind of talent if it's available!!!!

Even Deuce McAllister said that he would draft Reggie Bush if he were available. I love his attitude. He knows that Bush is a one of a kind type of talent that can really help the team. And Deuce is looking healthier than ever. I haven't seen him this fast, strong, and shifty in 3 years.

I have to say that this Saints team is playing with more heart than NO teams of the past. They are fighting down to the wire, and making any game a close game. The great thing is seeing the young players come in and making an immediate impact to make the team competitive. From the no-name O line, to 7th round draft pick Colston, to the #1 pick Bush. Everyone is making a difference to make sure that the Saints are in it to win it.

Gotta love it.

Grossman's quarterback rating was 101. Suwheet. This is shaping up to be a sweet, sweet season.

I officially apologize for all the bad things I said about Rex in the preseason. He's looking good (crossing fingers).

Da Bears are looking awesome. Like worldbeaters, they are dominating in every phase of the game. And they are doing what they used to do back in their glory days - dominating the line of scrimmage.

I have had so many happy Mondays, it's not funny. I can actually tolerate Packer Backers now. Maybe even feel sorry for them...........nah. Packers suck, but don't take my word for it. The fans can speak for themselves. :smug:

Gotta indeed!

Duce is a real classy guy, team first sort of dude, like an anti-TO (man, how does THAT yutz get a gig in football??? :rollno: ). He's another LT kind of player, great talent, all wrapped up in a humble team player.

They definitely are laying it all out on the field, I'm pretty nervous about this coming weekend, the Iggles made the Cowpatties look BAD...but I think they can stand up to it.

BTW, who said that teams that stunk the season before get "creampuff" schedules??? Here are the next 4 weeks for the Saints:

Eagles
Bye
Ravens
Bengals

Sheesh!!!!

They take 2 of 3 out of those, and I'm gonna be REALLY happy!!!

Yah, da Bare-ssss ARE indeed looking like worldbeaters...and I'm happy for ya, Jive. At least it ain't those pansies with the blue stars or the cheezeheads...

As for the fans speakin' for themselves, please check Sundogue's signature file!

Don't. We never did the whole time we dominated the Bears for 10 years straight in the not so distant past. All's fair. But there's no denying they are the team to beat. I see a lot of the 3-4 years ago Bears in the current Packers. I'm not gonna live in the past like a lot of Packer fans do. Now is now.

Now c'mon Gard, my sig is hardly a Packer fan "speakin' for themselves".

Speakin' for you because of a lost bet, sure.

Every team in the NFL has downturns and upturns...it's built that way and no team escapes it...though quite a few seem to do their best to escape the upturn part of it...and I think you know who I'm talkin' about.

Cool that Nawlins is on an upturn. If any team deserves it, it the Saints.

At least it ain't the Aints either. They've not played any team of consequence. They'll fade like a New Orleans sunset. They beat Cleveland 1-4, the Packers 1-4, Atlanta 3-1, Carolina 3-2 and Tamp 0-4. They beat teams with a combined 8-15 record to this point. Go brag to someone else. it Ain't cuttin it with me.

Can't even say the Bears have even been tested except maybe Seattle. They've won against teams going a combined 9-15.

It's a long season guys.

I had to share this gem from the Bears message board.

The title is The Bears Will Punch Your Stupid Face. Credit goes to tacologic.

What's up NFC? How do you like that? The Chicago Bears own you. That's right, their defense is more awesome than the most awesome of things ever. Even village idiot Sean Salisbury ranks them as the #2 team in the NFC. Of course, they're actually #1, but he's confused because he's legally ********. He thinks the Seahawks are #1, but that's stupid, because they are just birds and birds can't beat bears. If they were the Seattle Dragons or the Seattle GreatWhiteSharkCrocodileCougars, then maybe it would be a fair fight. But as it stands now, the Bears would eat the Seahawks then punch their wives in the uteri. They would hit Shaun Alexander so hard his teeth would straighten. So would Michael Strahan's. That's how hard they hit.

Furthermore, Alex Brown = maneater. That means he eats men. Sure you can giggle and think "he eats men, that's dirty" but then he'll punch you in the kidney with his oversized supersonic fist. Then you will cry. Ask Chris Smimms. He's currently crying. That's right, I called him Smimms. Why? Why not? He's soft. Ask Steve Young. He's tough as nails. He can tell you all about it. Because when you throw left handed, apparently you're a bad-***, no matter how much gel you use in your hair.

But back to the Bears. Their defense is so awesome, 8 million naked supermodels holding whiskey and midgets wouldn't be as awesome as them. Brian Urlacher and Adewale Ogunleye are like Batman and Robin, that is, if Robin were black and had the strength of 350,000 men. Because that's what it's like when he hits you. You're like, "ow, I think I just got hit by a lot of people." That's because you did, sucka.

So NFC and heck, AFC too, you better watch out. Because the Bears are nastisimo. That's spanish for "gonna getcha". And when you start talking Spanish, that means business. And the Bears business is eating you with their mighty defense, Gary Fencik-style. So, you better cover your faces NFL, because the Bears are coming to town and you're about to get punched like it's 1985.

Classic garbage. That kind of trash shows up even on the Packer forums. 10 to 1 he trashed the Bears weekly in their recent decade of mediocrity and suddenly now is #1 fan. He belongs in Minneapolis. Never saw fans jump on and off the bandwagon like when I lived up there.

There's a reason why I prefer to talk football on TB over most football forums.

Yep...

He DOES belong in Minneapolis. I've never seen a bigger group of FRONTRUNNERS than Viqueen fans (except maybe Cleveland Indians fans...which is odd, since Browns fans are so loyal). One of the thing that I think Packer and Bear fans grudgingly respect about each other, is they both are extremely loyal, and they'll sell out if they are 16-0 or 0-16. And although they may not admit it publicly, they will at least have the thoughts "damn they are pretty good" when the opposite team is (much like I think about the Bears now, and how the Bears fans thought about the Packers from 94 to 04).

Its funny how TB smack talk can influence your life now. Of course, as a Packer fan, I ALWAYS root against the Bears (except when they play the Viqueens), and I expect Bear fans to do the same. But since Gard has been talking all his NO crap (good naturedly of course), I find myself always rooting against the Saints. I was always completely ambivilent to them before!

OAKLAND , (CA)

Oakland Raiders football practice was delayed nearly two
hours today after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery
substance on the practice field. Head coach Art Shell immediately suspended
practice and called the police and federal investigators. After a complete
analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown
to Raider players was the GOAL LINE. Practice resumed after special agents decided
the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.
:D

GO RAIDERS!!

It is indeed going to be a long season...

...the Yackers are 1-4, the reciprocal of the Saints record, having won a total of ONE game against a team with a record of 0-5...so let's compare shall we...

Your team one win against an 0-5 team; my team 4 wins against a combined record of 8-15.

Hey, at least my team has beaten teams that have won games! 8 of them as a matter of fact!

:hyper:

Let's face facts, the Fluffers will be lucky to post as many wins this season as the Saints already have, and the Saints didn't set the schedule they have, they're just winning most of the games in it so far.

;)

At first glance it was really funny, then I started to feel guilty for laughing. It's sort of like laughing at the kids walking off the short bus.
