Just finished the first two of what may be 8 or 10 Gobos for isolation in home recordings. Rockwool from Homedepot (found a pack of 9/12 on Craigslist for $15), 1x3 pine boards from home depot - $2.3x a piece, King size sheet set from Ollies - $15, Hinges from Homedepot about $3? a pair, 1/2 inch staples for my Arrow stapler. A couple hours of fun, easy work. Now it's into the studio (livingroom).

As the father of 3 children who grew up with "velcro" (not those awful DIY Laces!) on their sneakers, I'm always impressed when someone "makes" something (DIY) by hand.
Also - Nice braggin' about your "Arrow" staplegun...yeah - that is the Stradivarius of stapleguns.
(Of course you realize, Rick, that you are now heading down the "My Bass Only Somewhat Quieter" path? Just FYI.)
Nice work!
You Go-Boy!

Thanks Don. Maybe growing up with 'lace-up' shoes makes DIY easier, although currently I much prefer slip-ons (usually of the boat shoe variety - with laces always tied).

It's always 'My Bass Only 'Something' with me, isn't it? It is absolutely amazing the lengths (some people) will go to to avoid actually practicing and learning to play better.

We just finished building 3 Gobo's for our studio. It started with 2x8"s a nail gun, some poplar, and black cotton duck, sheet rock and Roxul Safe and Sound insulation, and some tools.

We'll paint the rock and add some acoustic tiles to the non drum side. Then in a few weeks we will add the top layer with some doubled plexi windows.
