Double Bass NHØP tone

Niels sound was like electric ,fretless,...come on thats a mit.It is still doublebass. So many times i hear Ray is better cause his walkin is so good and he did choose right tones and like...blah blah,inelectual gymnastic and nothing more.He had perfect solos melodious and perfect walking,he could play bow also.So And so many times i hear why some bassists don't play with three fingers.
'Yeah Niels had low action andstuff like that...but guys when Niels and Brown switched basses in Montreux 77 all answers were answered and Niels did not have low actions yeah maby sometimes but that is not taking his superiority away.Niels was great and so are other giants and so will maby we be someday.Peace to ya all

Bassicaly,
NHOP was a extremely gifted bassist with incredible chops and
great musicality. He mastered the instrument. At the time he was doing his most prolific recording the tone he used was fairly common practice, there were many other players who had similar tone quality. A large group of players were in love with the discreet signal that the Wilson Transducer produced, George Mraz who I dearly love used it too. Neils was on the road a great deal so he set up his bass so that he could get "his sound" through all the different amps that he would encounter on tour. Once you get used to something that produces the results you want to practice your art, you aren't that inclined to change it.
