True, but it ain't gonna happen. And I'll be at the arena tonight screaming my face off and doing my part. So much for that barbershop concert I'm supposed to sing at on Friday.

That Brodeur sure knows how to frustrate us fans, though. If ANYONE else had been in net (aside from maybe Luongo or the Kipper when he's on his game) the score would have looked a lot different. That's easily the best performance a goalie has put up against us all season.

Wings pulled it out to even the series! I don't care what anyone says, this series is going seven, and it's a pick 'em. Though I've gotta say, Bertuzzi has been doing very little this series, and Calder has apparently been jinxed by my early prediction of him being the surprise trade deadline impact player, as somebody seems to have cranked up the suck rating in his player stats....

As a long-time Steve Yzerman fan, I've gotta give mad props to Joe Thornton - he donned 19 as a tribute to Stevie Y and he's most certainly doing the number proud. I always thought he was a bit soft when he was with the Bruins, but he's impressing me this series. I thought Cheechoo was a flash in the pan previously, but he's also showing me he's the real deal rather than the second coming of Robert Young or Paul Ysebaert. Part of me actually wishes Circuit City had laid me off a bit earlier so I could have watched more non-wings games during the season on the Center Ice package. Nabokov has been stellar as well, and even the most die-hard Red Wings fan has got to give the Sharks respect. I refused to use the "guppies" slam before the series, and imho no true hockey fan can use it anymore unless the team goes through several drafts that make Bill Wirtz look like a hockey management genius.

Holmstrom's deflection was a thing of beauty, maybe the Yankees should rent him after the playoffs :hiding: and you can count me among the most surprised when Robert "rubberstick" Lang (due to his propensity for unforced giveaways) was the hero to force overtime. Schneider was due for a goal.

As I said, this series is going seven, it's a pick-em. Barring injury, the winner takes the cup imho.

this seems to happen in every wings playoff appearance recently. just not getting the breaks ... finally we got a few yesterday. I was fully expecting to lose that game 2 - 0 or 2 - 1 but with about 40 shots on goal.

finally we got some breaks.

And I'm not impressed with bertuzzi. He must have lost the puck 10 times last night in the offensive zone.

Also Lidstrom seems to keep creating turnovers .. very unlike him.

I'm lovin the Datsyuk / Zetterberg / Homie line as well as the always strong Drapes / Maltz / Cleary line. both those lines seem to always have puck posession and create opportunities.

I think the wings are going to take the next two.

As much as I'd love to see the Wings in six, I still think it's a 7 game series and pick 'em. If the wings pull it out in 6, I'll heft a few Frankenmuth's :)

The Sharks have been my second fave since they entered the league, don't ask me why. Now that the Pens are out of it, I've gotta go with SJ.

Buuut, my area just got VS (not two weeks after the Pens were eliminated) and I've been watching my first few Western Conference games this season. Here's my prediction: Ducks for the Cup over Ottawa in 6. Don't hold me to it, but the Ducks would have put this game (now in 2OT) away if it weren't for Luongo in net for the Canucks.

Wow, I guess the refs wanted to go home.

999 times out of 1000 the goalie gets a TOO EASY whistle on a partial cover like that, but in double OT it's full contact for the netman and "play on?"

I bet one of the fat old figs just had to pee.

And not to back track, but 4 zebras and a dozen freakin' cameras on every game and not ONE has the angle that showed that late go-ahead goal the other night for Buffalo?

IMO the coverage and reffing has SUCKED, and for the most part the teams I like are winning, lol.

But screw the Ducks. Any real hockey fan hates the Ducks. :spit: :spit: :spit:

Granted, I am very biased, but that was horrible reffing once again.

In the 3rd period it was 0-0 (Sabres and Rangers by the way haha). Now we scored a goal but Isbister apparently took an Interference with Goaltender penalty 2 seconds prior, meanwhile he never even touched the goalie, so the goal was negated. The announcer said that was one of the worst calls he had ever seen.

So then later in the 3rd period we ended up scoring to go 1-0. Then with 7.7 seconds left, 6 skaters for Buffalo, they scored the tying goal to take it to overtime. Then in overtime they scored on the powerplay.

Honestly, it was just heartbreaking. Lundqvist had 39 saves that game, played outstandingly (as well as Miller I must say), but it really sucks.

As I said just this morning in this thread, the calls usually even out, but with 6 reviewed goals in this series so far, and a lot of crap calls going against us, I am very upset.
