NHL Playoffs

BTW, was anyone else surprised by absent of crowd in Detroit?

Michigan is in a one state depression, with unemployment approaching 7%, population leaving, and housing prices falling. 130$ cheap seat playoff tickets don't seem so attractive anymore. Plus the Tigers are doing well and the Pistons are kicking butt, I have a feeling most Detroit sports fans would rate both of those teams as having better prospects.

Not really a surprise.

They sell out every game, but the only people who control the tickets are rich season ticket holds, and companies/corporations. They buy the tickets, but often times the people don't go to the game. This has been going on for a good 10 years now. Sometimes the yuppies will only show up for a period, and then leave.

True, i thought about that, but we have the same deal and rarely do i see empty seats down low, and when i do, i go down and seat in them... :)

Hey, if no one seats there, why not, and if people show up, i just get up and go back to my seat. :)

However according to article, upper bawl seats were also empty... No yuppie would seat in upper seats... :)

I am so emotionally and physically drained after that game. Hands down one of the best games of the season. Despite the 6 straight Buffalo power plays, barely any calls in favor of the rangers, a goal for us that was called good on ice and waived off under review for "kicking" (which it wasn't)... the Rangers finally won with 3 minutes left in double overtime.

They dominated almost the whole game, both goaltenders had a good one, but we definitely deserved it. We're down 2-1 in the series, but we have another home game Tuesday and have a big driving force behind us now. Good luck to Anaheim tonight!

YEAH SHARKS!!!

How was the Devils Senators game?

It worked out to be some pretty fantastic hockey, if you ask me. I'd say (and I'm obviously a homer on this one) that the Sens outplayed the Devils pretty completely but Brodeur was absolutely amazing. If not for our little "bump" that game would have easily gone to overtime.

I still think Ottawa would have won it, but it would have taken longer.

On the topic of ticket prices, I'm heading to tomorrow night's Sens/Devs game here in Ottawa. I picked up the cheapest seats I could get (where you're still allowed to drink beer) and after all the charges they cost me $75 each. I could have had standing room tickets for around $60.

I was sure I saw a guy posting here saying the Devils will destroy the Sens , can't find it anymore........

Anyways good game yesterday , sharks/wings , it's good playoff hockey.

Brodeur was absolutly amazing against the Sens , without him it would be easily 5-6 to nothing:smug:

Go Sens Go !

It was 2-1, Rangers lead with 13 seconds left in third. There was a close call for Buffalo where Lundqvist's blocker just hit the puck out of the net when it was crossing the line. The play went to review... it was a no goal on ice and it was a no goal in the review, THANK YOU!

2-2 series now. At this rate it may come down to a Game 7 at Buffalo, I am just so relieved though.

That was the 3rd goal review of this series so far, and the only one that has come out our way. It is a good day to be a Rangers fan!

You guys were lucky that your overhead camera was set back further than any other NHL arena. You have no doubt that it was a goal, its just that the video judges were stuck on the call. Since they couldn't see it physically over the line, it didn't count.

Though, I don't think you could honestly give me a legit reason as to why that goal didn't' count.

Vancouver game, great game played by both teams. Though the refs did miss alot of calls. Especially the trip that Pronger made on Salo just before Selannes goal.

Ah well, shit happens.
