^^^That is the MI/Pro Audio retail industry's dirty little secret: If you come in to buy a rack and tell the salesperson you need, for example, a 4-space rack, Mr. Sales Dude will always encourage you to consider a 6-space (or larger) rack, either for "ventilation" or "future expansion" or "cable storage" etc. And yes, it absolutely is prudent advice. But what Mr. Sales Dude knows is that if you take a 6-space rack home and bolt 4RU worth of gear into it, those two extra empty spaces are going to be calling out to you relentlessly: "Fill me! Fill me! Buy something new and put it in me!!!"

Like swallows returning to Capistrano, the new rack owner will inevitably return within a few weeks to buy more rackmount gear!

GED-2112 Preamp into a Peavey IPR2-3000 poweramp, accented by a blacklight that sits behind a 1U grill.

GK 700RB-II rack setup with a Klark DN504 4 channel compressor and a Peavy 3/4 crossover unit. The setup is to get 3 or 4 bands of compression of the bas signal. Right now I have it running as a three band setup but it could be setup for 4 bands.
