Old threads here in TalkBass:Strings [BG], asking the same question:hi gang,
except from TI flats, which brand makes a flatwound with a nickel wrap?
i suspect the TI's are very warm for that reason, but looking for a different soundqfeel.
thanks!

Honorable mentions:
- Rotosound Jazz Bass 77 flats are wrapped in Monel (a specific range of copper-nickel alloy where 1/2 to 2/3 is nickel)
- D'Addario (bass) Half-Rounds are pure nickel, but not true flats (they're groundwounds)
- GHS Brite Flats are...twice removed (they're groundwounds, and wrapped in Alloy 52, which is nickel+iron).
Yeah, they don't seem to have many fans. I've never tried them, nor have I the GHS: my hands are implacable string killers, so after I turned to rust a barely-used set of S.I.T. Power Flats - they were groundwounds at the time - I stopped experimenting with that string type altogether...Thanks!
I really wanted to try the daddario halfrounds, but i read nothing but bad reviews about them...
I'm a fan of these. They feel like broken in XLs. I dig them. Thanks!
