Many times we get nicknames applied to us by friends and (sometimes) parents. They can be flattering like: "Swe-eetie" or "Handsome" or "Sexy" (no offense intended) --- and these usually end up in fights in school and social outcasting/derision in later life.

It seems that all blues players have a nick that kinda describes them in ways that they like or are aptly applied to a trait or characteristic. Sometimes it's for blood and insults - but let's not go there.
Bass players need a nick too!
