im totally with you man. i live out in wimberley texas on 10 acres at the end of a dirt road. walking at night it one of the most peacefull things i can think of. good for you man.

Night Walking

As much as I like the idea an sich, I don't like the idea of walking around for fun in my neighbourhood or a public park for that reason (not hard to guess what signal you're broadcasting while walking in the park at night...)
When you guys go walking at night has the humidity gone down significantly from the day ? I only go out walking it if has.
I agree with you, though with my schedule I go for walks just as the sun is coming up in the morning. I used to walk late at night though.
Same thing, there is no traffic. No one else is really up yet so it's peaceful. Best of all is the natural world is just coming to life and the only sounds are the river and the birds.
There is nothing better than a walk at odd hours to refresh your spirit. In today's hectic world, it is such a breath of fresh air (literally and figuratively).

I find that I take walks between 3-6am, tends to be a sunday morning for me, because its real quiet, everyone has gone to bed, no drunks fighting, no police screaming around (usually).
Can walk for up to 2 hours, but thats cuz I go exploring.
I especially enjoy it after having spent all day trapped in a theatre, its a nice time to relax after, what can be a very long and tiring day.

definitely with the night walking practice. it was in my blood even in teen years, at expense of justified parental wrath if I got caught. mischief was never and is not the intent. night is unique. open yet private. dark yet illuminated. currently love night walking with a very selective custom mix of Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, and legacy Genesis for night walking with MD player. haven't upgraded to iPod yet. there have been fatal moiuntain lion attacks in this area, in broad daylight, so that perhaps adds a little thrill, if not outright paranoia. then again, I'm a stephen king fan.
I usually run after work (5-6ish), but with the summer heat and humidity around here, I found myself going out anywhere from 9-11. The humidity is still pretty high, but the temps have cooled nicely by this time.
With this nasty heat and humidity it still has not been cool enough to go out for a good walk later at night, it looks like I will have to wait till the end of the week.

i wouldn't dare go walking around my neighbourhood any where past 12 o'clock, unless i was with a bunch of my friends.

We have been blessed with cooler lower humidity evenings lately so I have been taking advatage of it with getting out everynight for at least an hour and half walk

I was in the Phoenix area a couple of weeks ago...and despite the heat, it was very comfortable given the low humidity. I definitely took a stroll in the desert at dusk.
